Biography
I have had food allergies my entire life and live a full life; I am committed to helping other people with food allergies do the same.
Whether through my award-winning blog Please Don’t Pass the Nuts™ , my critically acclaimed and publicly lauded book Allergic Girl: Adventures in Living Well with Food Allergies or one-on-one counseling with adults and families dealing with food allergies, I offer experienced insights and guidance on how to get more out of a life lived with food allergies.
Through Allergic Girl® Resources, Inc., I offer a range of services. I consult with the restaurant, foodservice and hospitality industries on how best to address food allergy issues. I consult with governmental agencies about food allergies. Recent work has included the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense. I also offer food allergy counseling services to individuals, couples, families and groups.
As a trained mental health worker, who understands the challenges from the inside out, I am uniquely qualified to lead the movement to provide supportive and innovative services to the food allergic community.
My work has appeared in national and international media, including: ABCNews; Allergic Living; CNN; Huffington Post; New York Magazine; NY1; The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.
